2020

Due to many uncertainties and concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Geotop announces the cancellation of its annual student conference, scheduled for March 20-22. This difficult decision follows the Quebec government's recommendation that any "unnecessary" gatherings should be avoided.

We would like to acknowledge all the work of the organizing committee and thank them deeply for all their efforts over the past few months.

We are pleased to announce the Geotop Student Meeting 2020, organized by UQAM students.

The annual meeting will be held at Hôtel Chéribourg, Orford, QC, from Friday, March 20th to Sunday March 22nd. The hotel, located in magnificent Magog-Orford, offers the ideal setting to enjoy your favourite winter activities, such as cross-country ski, downhill ski, snowshoe or just a refreshing walk. For the relaxation experts, an indoor pool and an outdoor spa will be accessible. A huge game room (babyfoot, a pool table and more) are available for you and for the little ones that will be amongst us.

For the new participants, here is a foretaste: the Geotop Student Meeting brings our community together for a three-day conference addressing various disciplines in the Earth Science’s field. It is an opportunity for the students to present their research (poster or oral presentation) and network. The bilingual spirit of the meeting demands that your presentation support (poster or ppt slides) be in the opposite language that you are speaking, e.g. if you decide to speak in English, your presentation support must be in French, and vice versa. Three distinguished speakers will be invited specially for the congress. Networking and outdoor activities are also offered to favour multidisciplinary connections.

To register, please fill in the online registration form before February the 6th: https://forms.gle/LXtDXfRxaTmGfoZZ6

Please note that the inscription includes:

- transportation (buses) from your university to Hotel Cheribourg + trip back

For the reasons stated above, you are asked to submit your abstract (300 words) in both English AND French while registering.
