To all of Geotop,
Do you work with paleoecological data? Attend a workshop on quantitative approaches to reconstructing the environment and climate from pollen and microfossil assemblages in general, at Geotop-UQAM (Président-Kennedy Building).
Trainer: Dr Manuel Chevalier (University of Bonn – Germany)
For Geotop participants:
• Lunches will be provided.
• Limited funding is available for students and postdocs coming from institutions outside of Montreal.

April 2: Geotop seminar by Manuel Chevalier
April 3: From theory to practice
• Overview of the most commonly used data processing methods in paleoecology and paleoclimatology (MAT, WAPLS, PDF, etc.)
• Theoretical and graphical tools for data validation
April 4: Introduction to CREST (for reconstruction using PDFs, i.e. probability density functions)
• Using CREST for reconstructions
• Comparison of results with modern analogues (MAT)
April 5: Putting approaches into practice
• Exploring the possibilities of CREST with different tracers
